I loved almost everything about this book. It has all the elements of both the young adult and paranormal genre that fans come to love and expect. Caleo Anima doesn't fit in at Butler High. So, you get the outcast element which is always a crowd pleaser. Then, a stranger turns up to tell him that he is part of a magical race Crawford calls the Leeches. The story's protagonist then finds himself torn from a world that never accepted him anyway, and thrown into the middle of a war that has been fought where no eyes could see for decades.
