Casting Call for Darwin's Children: The Big Three

I'd like to start this post by saying I totally stole this idea from the wonderfully talented author of the YA adventure Excelsior, George Sirois. You can read my review of his debut title Here. Its worth checking out.

Now on to that age old question, if my books were ever turned into a movie or  TV series, who do I see playing them? I'd like to start with the big three in the Darwin's Children series, or rather, the adults because they were the easiest to "cast." Here are my picks for John Gramm, Mason Lerner and Allison Young.

I'm pretty sure Bradley Cooper was born to play the super powered master of the human will. I decided this after seeing him in the A-team. He has John Gramm's sense of humor and big, blue eyes.
I've always loved Terrance Howard and think he would be a great Mason Lerner.
I've always loved Thirteen from House, and can totally see her leveling planets and juggling tanks. She's my pick to play Jaycie's mommy, Allison Young.

Next week I'll do the kiddies, or Matt, Jaycie and Haylee. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts about my picks. Authors, who is your dream cast for your own work?

Happy Sunday!

Love it! And yes, it is a lot of fun to cast your books as well as helpful. The more you can put faces to your names, the better descriptions you'll be able to provide...

Great choices! I love it when authors do this.

I agree 100% George. Not to mention its fun picturing your favorite actors running around inside your head while you revise. Or maybe, that's just me =)

Hi Tasha (and everyone :) Excellent post. It is fun and interesting to cast your characters. As you correctly said on Twitter Deborah Ann Woll (from True Blood) would make a great Cassandra (she's be used to the fangs too!) if she wasn't available Lauren Ambrose (from Torchwood: Mircale Day and Six Feet Under) would also be a great choice. As for Joseph, well this is strange pick as Joseph is me almost exactly. Hmm even though I think Brad Pitt would be a great Joseph ;) (we know he can do vampire!) He is just not the right age. So I would have to pick Daniel Radcliffe. He would need to lose the English accent and have his hair a little different but I think he would do a good job.

Oh right you did 3 :) Well the other important character (the main villian) would be John Snow. I've have to pick Michael Shannon for him, he is a good actor and already looks pale and creepy without any make-up or fangs ;)

Really Charles? Daniel Radcliff? That's an odd vampire choice, ;) I do like all your other picks.

Well it's tough to someone to play me. You read it Tasha (and Pat :) who do you think would make a good Joseph? I suppose Ryan Reynolds could be good but he's a little old as well (Joseph is 23 in the book) and not good looking enough ;)

Tough choice on your comment, Charles. Have to think about that one.

As for Olivia Wilde (#13 on House), she is such a versatile actress. She played in Aliens and Cowboys, as well as Tron2. Think of the different looks, and it's almost like she is two different people. Yet she is always beautiful. She could probably play almost anyone...

Except Joseph...

I loved her on Cowboys and Aliens! I agree about her being able to play almost anyone. I wanted to cast her as Sasha until I saw her with that blonde hair.. top it off with that slight alien look and she looks almost exactly like I described Allison.
